I write this as I’m dusting off my disco shoes ready for another night of Baby Shark dancing!
It’s been another busy week with many events taking place across the year groups including students been given the opportunity to take part in additional STEM sessions. We are very grateful to our Science department for organising these sessions with the Royal Society of Chemistry who approached the Science department to say a last minute opportunity had arisen.
Our Year 11 Business students are currently returning from a trip to Paris, where they have experienced an array of work related, and business, opportunities. Whilst the photos show chocolate, cakes and Euro Disney, I am assured by staff on the trip, and some of the students who have emailed me, that there was lots of hard work being achieved as well.
Next week is always a tricky week where half the schools in the country are on half term break, and half are not. As we go into the 8th week, of this 1st half of Autumn term, we will continue to keep the work ethic and high standards that we have been striving for, knowing we won’t be doing 8 weeks in the 2nd half of Autumn Term leading up to Christmas.
Thank you to everyone who took part in Thursday’s Year 5 and Year 7 parental “Drop-In Sessions”. This was a new concept that we decided to try and, as we believe that the relationship between home and school is very important, we will be looking at parent, and staff, feedback to see how we can develop this going forward.
I hope you all have a good weekend; personally I’m going to enjoy watching the rugby now that Scotland has been eliminated and I don’t have to go through the continued pain of another failed World Cup.
Royston Rotary Swimathon
A huge well done and thank you to the 10 Super Swimmers representing King James Academy at the Royston Rotary Club Swimathon. Between the two relays teams they completed an amazing 312 lengths.
