King James Academy Royston has now been confirmed as the new Hub Site for the North East Herts School Sport Partnership.  Miss Williamson will be leading the partnership as the new School Games Organiser.  This is very exciting news with the position providing additional opportunities for KJAR to work with the first and primary schools in Royston and the surrounding areas.

Yr10/11 Girls Football
The yr10/11 Girls football team were the first KJAR sports team to play a fixture.  In the new team strip of navy and gold the girls put in an excellent performance.  They worked hard as a team showed some great quality in possession and clinched a 5-0 win the North Herts league.  They really set the standard for every KJAR team to try and follow.

The Girls got their North Herts league campaign underway with two very tough games against Hitchin Girls and Priory.  Despite two defeats the KJAR team played with great effort and developed well as a team.  We are sure they will come back even stronger in their next match.

Yr8 Girls Football
Herts County Cup round 1 was where the Year 8 girls got their season underway.  Chancellors School from Hatfield were the visitors to KJAR and both teams started the game with high energy creating chances at both ends.  KJAR captain Poppy Smith was the first to score with a superb shot from distance to make it 1-0.  The momentum then continued with an own goal and two goals for Elise Willis to make it 4-0.

However Chancellors came back positively to pull the game back to 4-3.  The KJAR year 8’s were strong enough in the closing minutes to hold on and book their place in round 2.
