It’s been an interesting week this week. It was great to be able to finally announce that we are part of the Diamond Learning Partnership Trust. I’d like to thank those of you who have contacted us to say how positive this will be for the school going forward. It’s nice to be part of a bigger organisation whose values and beliefs are so in line with all that we have stood for. I really believe this is the most significant and positive thing that has happened since the school first became a Trust in 2011.
It has been a busy week this week, many of our year 5 and 6 students were excited to talk about the lower school disco and I’d like to once again thank the Friends and staff who made the event what it was. Without their dedication these events can’t run.
I’d also like to make a special thank you to both the Science and English department this week. The STEM activities and assembly organised by the Science team in particular Miss Cornwell, created a real buzz around the subject area. Not to be outdone Mrs Morrison and her team really made sure World Book Day had a positive focus, I hope those of you who found the books around the site enjoyed the books the English team selected.
I have recently been reading Charlie and the Chocolate factory with my daughter. I must admit I’d forgotten the delight a really well written book could ignite in a young mind.
It was also great to see some of our older students getting the opportunity to go to the theatre this week to experience some of the texts they are studying as they should be seen on the stage.
Have a good weekend.
