Hope you all had a good half term break, it’s certainly been an interesting week this week with the weather, Coronavirus updates and that realisation for us all that we are halfway through the year, and there’s still lots to do.

 

You will all be receiving a letter next week from Diamond Learning Partnership Trust, which will fully update you on where we are in the next stage of the schools growth. I really believe these are exciting times for the academy and am looking forward to getting started on the next phase.

 

There have been many activities going on since I last wrote to you and I would encourage those of you who do not follow us on social media to look at the schools Twitter accounts. You will see various activities across many areas which show just what goes on in our school. 

 

Recently there have been posts about environmental projects, sporting achievements, musical endeavours and even 2 young men who had the opportunity to swim in an international swimming competition in Dubai (where they tell me they had a great time, except for the 4am training sessions!). 

 

Looking at our Twitter accounts you will also get a feel for the level of support that many of our staff provide for our students. Both as Headteacher and as a Dad, I have taken advice from the Time to Talk posts to help support my daughter, who at times finds school difficult and I know it has made a difference.

 

Could I also apologise that next week, on Thursday, my evening drop in session will not run as I am attending the Hertfordshire Headteachers conference so will not be in school. As you know I really think it is important that you, as parents, can have access to me directly and just remind you that this is something we’ve done this academic year. To book a meeting with me please contact my PA via the school office.
