Careers Advice
KJAR has a careers programme for pupils from Year 5 to Year 11 (13?). KJAR is a member of the North Herts, Stevenage, Welwyn & Hatfield Careers Hub and works closely with the CEC and our business link, and Youth Connexions
Years 5 & 6 Introduction to the world of work, to employability skills and aspirations. Contact with employers. Support from Youth Connexions
KS3 Further encounters with employers, work on aspirations and future career options, support and advice when making option choices, careers and enterprise activities from Young Enterprise and other external providers
KS4 Each pupil receives individual advice and guidance from a Youth Connexions Personal advisor, has one week of work experience in Year 10, as part of the PSHE programme develops their understanding of employability skills, has encounters with a range of employers, CV workshops and mock interviews, access to START to keep a record of their careers education through their individual profile, apprenticeships support and support with post-16 option choices and applications
